When people start planning their travel to Iran, they mostly think of big cities such as Isfahan, Yazd, and Shiraz. Moreover, they usually think of ancient sights to visit, not to mention Persepolis or Jame Mosque of Isfahan.

Iran is one of the biggest countries in the world which covers an area of 1,648,000 Km2 (636,000 mile2); it is the second largest country in the Middle East and the 17th in the world. As a result, the country has so many mountains, deserts, jungles, and lakes inside.

With a variety of climatic zones and nature, when you travel to Iran you will see hot deserts, lush forests, and beautiful mountains at the same time. One of the most interesting parts of Iran, from the perspective of eco-tourism, is considered to be the northern part of the country.

When most people who have never travel to Iran, think about the country, they usually picture a deserted-country which is not true for all the country, but for some parts of it. 

Iran is a vast country with more than 1,648,000 Km2 area. More than 55% area of the country is mountains, therefore, Iran is a great place for mountain climbing. 

One of the most beautiful parts of Iran is the northwest side of the country, where you can find beautiful jungles, unique nature, historical sites, and few properties inscribed on the World Heritage sites by UNESCO around the city.

Travel to Iran is not limited to the historical places, Iran is a wonderland with magnificent natural items in every corner of the country, one of the most beautiful phenomena is salt lakes, there are some small and large salt lakes in Iran. 

About 55% area of Iran’s land consists of mountains and mountain plateaus. These mountains can be divided into four main areas; Alburz, Zagros, Central Iran and East of Iran. So if you are interested in mountain climbing, Iran can be one of the best destinations for mountain climbing.

When you hear about Iran you may think it’s all about desert, but actually, you can find various geographic conditions in the country. 

Mesr (it has the same meaning as Egypt in Persian) is a desert village in the Central District of Khur and Biabanak County in the Isfahan province and 45 km far from the city of Jandag and 371 km far from Yazd.
