Iran Train Ticket Price

Intercity buses are faster, but trains are more commodious and safe. If you take the first-class train, you may lie down and relax. The price of a train ticket in Iran varies depending on the cities of departure and destination and the type of train, so a fixed price cannot be considered for it. Currently, purchasing your tickets in advance is required if you wish to take a train to any destination. For example:

1. All Mashad trains: at least two weeks before departure
2. Esfahan, Shiraz, and Mashad from Tehran: at least two weeks before departure
3. Iran-Yazd: at least one week before departure
4. Tehran to Ahvaz, Bandar Abbas, Tabriz, Zanjan, Kerman: 4-5 days before departure
5. All other trains need to be booked two to three days before departure; however, keep in mind that not all connections travel every day.

You cannot book in advance on some trains that travel between smaller cities; the short train from Mashad to Sarakhs is one example of a train that does not fill up in advance.
